Designed a viral fake-OOH marketing campaign concept for an IBM Z hackathon using CGI visuals set on recognizable university landmarks.
We started by studying viral CGI marketing campaigns and identified why giant impossible objects in familiar locations grab attention. We brainstormed several concepts around university landmarks before settling on a branded IBM Z hot air balloon floating above the campus reflection pools. The visuals were iterated repeatedly, moving from aerial shots to lower, more immersive phone-camera perspectives and refining branding placement, aspect ratios, and compositions for social media formats. AI handled ideation, concept visualization, and image generation, while the creative direction, event messaging, and final aesthetic decisions remained human-led. The final concept was designed to transition from a CGI teaser into the actual hackathon poster in a short-form reel.
does anyone know how I can add motion to the image here? I want the air balloon to realistically zoom towards the camera, and have people walking around.
drop the image into gemini and tell it the exact same thing. veo3 will do its magic
The initial aerial compositions looked cinematic but didn't feel believable as viral social content. Lower-angle "someone just filmed this on campus" perspectives ended up creating a much stronger fake-OOH effect.
The process began with broad inspiration prompts and quickly shifted into iterative art direction. Rather than asking for the final output immediately, the prompts became increasingly specific—adjusting camera angle, realism, branding, perspective, and social-media framing one variable at a time.
